BLUEBERRY GRUNT

1 qt blueberries

½ cup sugar

2/3 cup water

 Put ingredients into saucepan and bring to boiling point.

 Sift together:

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

 

Cut in 1 Tbsp butter or shortening and add enough milk (2/3 cup) to make a soft biscuit dough.  Drop by spoonful in the hot berries.  Cover lightly and cook 12 - 15 minutes.  Do not lift cover while cooking.  Serve warm, plain or with cream.
